Woodlawn March For Justice

Woodlawn March For Justice

On Chicago's South Side, Saturday, November 28, 2015, citizens rallied at 63rd and Cottage Grove to protest police brutality, police corruption, and the execution of 17 year-old Chicago native, Laquan McDonald. The community gathered in demand for justice and proceeded to march down Cottage Grove chanting and lifting each other's voices. The march ultimately culminated with a rally in front of the Third District Police Station. Forming a Community Police Accountability Council or CPAC, was a common theme. Ideally, citizens should possess a reasonable amount of autonomy over local law enforcement. Establishing a CPAC would fill this void between  the police and the community the police are meant to serve.
